What Is CAR T-Cell Therapy?

During treatment:
- A patient’s T cells are collected from their blood
- The cells are specially engineered in a laboratory to recognize cancer cells
- The modified T cells are returned to the patient through infusion
- Once inside the body, the CAR T cells seek out and attack cancer cells
Unlike traditional chemotherapy, CAR T-cell therapy is highly targeted and uses the body’s own immune system to fight cancer.
